  • It's a good thing to learn from our predecessors about what has worked and what hasn't worked and why.
  • Pay forward in your practice the benefits and solutions learned from critical analysis.
  • Always be mindful of what is best for the Project, this might be more difficult than it appears given the people factor at all levels.
  • Don't draw a line without being able to provide a rationale. This rationale will in most cases give you great insight into the evolving form of your design.
  • Sometimes a great idea comes from where you least expect it.
  • Structure frees us up to become more creative.
  • Listen to the Client's evident programme but also the inferred one, which in many cases is revealed between the lines.
  • There is always a solution.
